"Beau Séjour à la Maison Blanche"is located in an attractive old maison de maître from 1824, located in the Nièvre department in Bourgogne-France-Comté, in the middle of the village of Vandenesse, next to the church where the bells keep you up to date.

Enjoy a nice holiday together without children around you, make time for each other, enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool together or sit on the veranda in the park-like garden with a good book or simply do nothing but enjoy the view over the Burgundian hills with the 14th century Vandenesse castle until the sun disappears behind the horizon. During your“adults only”you can be sure that you will enjoy your holiday in peace and quiet. And how about a peaceful night's sleep? This means you can enjoy your holiday even more and you will also go home recharged.

The house has an attractive entrance on the ground floor, a spacious living room and a dining room where the atmosphere of the past is still present. On the first floor there are a total of three characteristic guest rooms, one of which is a suite. The entire house and other accessible areas arenon-smoking! 

The distance from Utrecht to Vandenesse is about 750 kilometers. For many people, this is a nice distance to make a stopover and then continue traveling. But even if you plan to go on holiday in Burgundy, this is still a distance that can be covered in one day. If you come by car, you can park in our closed courtyard. If you come by train, we will pick you up at the station in Cercy-la-Tour.    

The water treatment of the heated swimming pool is salt-based, making the water much softer than chlorine-based water and therefore mild for the skin and swimwear. Red eyes are also a thing of the past.

And what could be better than after a day out or a day at the pool, to be pampered with, for example, a back massage or wellness treatment. Our masseur (Paul) will treat you in your room or on the veranda. Ask us about the various options.

Breakfast

The extensive breakfast of the chambres d'hôtes is served in the dining room, or outside on the terrace or veranda when the weather is nice. Let us spoil you with freshly baked bread with all kinds of local treats, cheese, fruit, tea, coffee and freshly squeezed fruit juice.

Dinner

If desired, it is possible to join the table d'hôtes, served at Auberge Gourmande, our neighbors across the street. They will then serve you a three-course menu or a daily special in collaboration with us. If desired, we will take your dietary requirements into account, please indicate this in advance when booking. 

Picnic basket

Would you like to spend a day cycling or going out by car? Bring us a filled picnic basket with bread, cheese, wine, fruit and other delicacies.

Burgundy is part of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in France. A beautiful area with an extensive wine region, where you can find the tastiest wines. Here you can take nice walks and bike rides or visit the beautiful city of Beaune where you can taste Burgundy wines yourself. This is also possible at most wine estates that you encounter throughout the wine region.

In addition, a stone's throw from "Beau Séjour à la Maison Blanche" there is also a beautiful regional park, the Morvan. This green, mountainous area where you can still find truly unspoilt nature is not only ideal for walks, bike rides or mountain biking or canoeing, you can also find historical heritage here such as the city of Vézelay, the abbey of Fontenay and Bibracte and countless castles. Here you go back in time, so there is plenty to do and experience. You should also definitely not miss Château-Chinon and Autun. Would you rather relax at a beautiful swimming lake? Then visit Lac des Settons or Lac de Panneciere. In short, you will not easily get bored here, there is plenty to do in the Morvan!

You will also find numerous nice sights outside the Morvan, and it is recommended to visit the cities such as Nevers and Chalon sur Saone.
