We had a dream ...

We really wanted to move to the South of France and open a chambres d'hôtes there..

Suddenly you are standing there in front of the perfect building in the perfect environment. You have to let go of everything that offers certainty and then dare to go for it..

That is what we did and that is how our dream became reality. We moved with our family to Bellegarde-Marsal in March 2004.

We are Veerle and Wim and our sons Iben (°1998) and Nathan (°2000)

A whole new life began for our family! A big challenge of course!

Our village is small and picturesque, it is located on the river in the Tarn valley.

Before we moved here, we had a bakery in Aarsele in West Flanders for 10 years.

The baking trade is actually still close to our hearts! And that is why we spoil our guests in Mambré every day with an extensive home-made breakfast buffet! In the meantime, the baker has also become a passionate chef and we let you enjoy our delicious and cozy table d'hôtes four times a week.

We are a team and are ready for you every day - for 16 years already! We are quite proud of that!

Our main goal is and remains: to give you a beautiful and unforgettable holiday!

Mambré is a link to the hospitality of Abraham ... it was once the country house of the Dominican order of nuns..

After the necessary renovation works, we transformed Mambré into Maison Mambré: An oasis of peace and quiet, where you can dream away and enjoy and where hospitality is still very central.

The cozy rooms, the cozy salon in the former chapel with stained glass windows and the large garden with swimming pool ensure that you can already enjoy yourself optimally here on site.

During the renovation works, we have provided double rooms, family rooms and suites. This way we can accommodate a total of 16 people. The many windows in the house provide the rooms with lots of light and they all have their own bathroom and toilet.

All rooms are named after sisters who used to stay here.

We also have a spa area with hammam and infrared sauna.

There is WiFi and 4G TV in the lounge for guests.

Our large garden offers terraces facing north and south and we enjoy a beautiful view of the valley and the river.

The swimming pool is ideally located completely facing south.

There is a spacious terrace around the pool with plenty of sun loungers and parasols.

There are several carports and ample parking for cars, a closed garage for motorcycles and bicycles.

The village with its lovely pebble beaches is just a stone's throw away from Mambré.

The ideal region for sports enthusiasts and nature lovers! Bellegarde-Marsal is located in the Tarn department - and is part of the Occitanie region. In the valley it is of course very quiet, but only 14 km away is the beautiful city of Albi! After many years we experience that we have a large audience of walkers and cyclists! The beautiful, vast and very varied surroundings ensure that you can fully enjoy yourself here. You have so much diversity in terms of landscapes and nature, you can actually continue walking and cycling! We also have many walks and bike rides - at all levels - available! Canoeing on the Tarn can also be a lot of fun and there are adventure parks in the area.

But culture vultures and bon vivants will also get their money's worth here! There is not only Albi with its immense brick cathedral and the Toulouse-Lautrec museum! The beautiful cities such as Castres, Toulouse, Millau and even Carcassonne can also be visited from here. The Tarn Valley with its charming villages Ambialet and Brousse-Le-Châteaux…

The wine region of Gaillac – and the bastides Castelnau-de-Montmiral, Puycelsi, Bruniquel and Penne. Cordes-sur-Ciel the pearl among the bastides.. and also Najac and Conques are more than worth it. The viaduct of Millau and the cellars of Roquefort..

The Passerelle of Mazamet and the bastide Lautrec.. Tastings of wines, olives, cheeses, charcuterie, foie gras, whisky/gin and saffron!

And so we can continue to pass on tips..
