Welcome to l'Ermite

Or welcome to Frank and Gretha and the cat Rouby. We live in an old farm in the centre of a little village and we have lots of space around the house.There are 4 rooms for a total of 10 persons.

Cooking and eating has always been our hobby, now we practice that in our own restaurant. You can come and eat in the restaurant every weekend and during the school holidays, and we always serve table d'hôtes (a special menu for our room guests).

The four rooms above the restaurant, for a total of 10 people, are available all year round. Every room has a bathroom with a shower, toilet, sink and hairdryer. Each room has a seating area, a writing table, a water cooker with coffee and tea. Bring your own screen to make use of our wifi. A simple breakfast is included. You can elaborate your breakfast against small amounts.

Only the room without carpet is suitable for a dog.

Surroundings

The village of Saint Algis is located in the Aisne (Picardie) in the valley of the l’Oise. Our house in the centre of the village is surrounded by our garden with seats to relax.

The region is known as the Thiérache, a peaceful area that extends into Belgium: brick farms, meadows surrounded by hedges, fortified churches, orchards and forests. You can enjoy walking, cycling and canoeing here. In the summer, many villages have a brocante on Sundays. Nearby attractions include the fortified churches, the Familistere in Guise, the Matisse Museum in Cateau-le-Cambrésis founded by the painter himself and the old towns of Saint-Quentin and Laon.
