La Ferme de l'Ortier

La Ferme de l’Ortier is a farm house from 1840. Today La Ferme is a guesthouse with 5 seperate rooms. We started renovating in 1997. Here you will find on 5 acres of countryside a relaxpoint, which gives you a superb central place to discover Normandy with all it’s aspects.

We offer you a place to stay, including breakfast and are pleased to help you in finding your way in the Normandy. If you wish to have dinner with us, please let us know.

Quality and a peacefull environment are two milestones in our Ferme. With us you are far away from the hectic, noisy world. That’s why we don’t have TV in our rooms.

Who are we?

Géraldine from Lausanne (CH), grown up in Mexico; Hotel school diploma Lausanne; working in Switzerland since 1988.

The ideal central location of La Ferme de L’Ortier will enable you to reach historic and culinary attractions quite rapidly. The area is known for its equestrian activities and riding schools. Haras du Pin, the most famous French riding school built by Louis 14 is located 15 minutes away from La Ferme de L’Ortier.

Other landmarks in this vicinity are Castle Medavy, Castle d’O and Castle Sassy. Another two hour drive will leave you in front of the imposing and world famous Mont St Michel.

You will find one of the most important historical 2nd World War sites on the north coast of Normandy; easy to reach via new motorway A88. From here you are also in the vicinity of fashionable and atmospheric Deauville and Honfleur.

Through this route you will automatically pass through the famous area of Camembert, Calvados and you will be able to experience the opulence of nature’s produce of Normandy. Fish, meat and dairy produce are famed throughout the world.

Do you fancy a day in Paris? From the station of Surdon, 4 kilometres from La Ferme you will be able to reach this world city fast and safely.
